Finding Time for Yourself

As a busy mother, it can be very challenging to find time for yourself. When you have so many responsibilities on your plate, it's easy to get to a point where you're focusing on everyone but yourself. You don't want to get to the end of your rope and realize that you're broken beyond repair. There are simple ways you can make sure you put yourself first while you're handling the business of children, work and life. Consider these four tips.

 1. Take a 30-minute break every day.
You might decide that you want to take the thirty-minute break after the children go down for bed. You might want to take the thirty-minute break in between work and picking up the children. During that break, do something you love. Go get a latte. Go to the park and enjoy the swings. Put in your headphones and listen to a great audiobook. You might decide you want to sit in silence. It's totally up to you.

 2. Schedule a personal date once a week.
Just like it's mandatory for you to go to work every day, make sure you schedule a mandatory personal date once a week. For this date, you can go to the movies by yourself. You can go get a massage. You can take care of your skin with a visit to the denver dermatology clinic. Just make sure it's something you'll look forward to.

 3. Purchase something for yourself once a week.
Grocery lists and school supply lists can wait. Take a moment to make sure you make a list of items you'd want for yourself. Each week, purchase one item on the list. It can be something small like a sweet-smelling candle. It can be an experience like a night in a swanky hotel. When you make these small investments into yourself, you'll validate your need for self-care.

 4. Exercise. Exercise isn't just for the health of your body.
Yes, it's good for weight management, but there's so much more to the picture. Exercise is also great for mental health and mental stability. If you're dealing with a lot of stress, go for a nice jog or walk in the neighborhood. Go to the local gym and lift weights. These exercises can really help to elevate your mood in the long run.
